Not much makes me happier than making new things out of old stuff. That’s how I learned to work with leather… but the passion goes back way further. I love preserving old pieces, pieces with stories, memories… And yes, of course keeping less garbage out of landfills is an added bonus. There are so many reasons to work with reclaimed materials, but let’s not forget that it’s just fun! I’ve been experimenting with different bag sizes recently and this is a new addition that I’m really happy with! It’s somewhat oversized, but more like a “medium oversized.” By that I mean that it’s still big, but not as big as they can get, also fairly lightweight. These do take a lot of time to make- from deconstructing the leather from its source, then doing the quilted spiderwebs before adding the hand cut appliqué. It’s a labor of love but SO worth the work. This beauty is different shades and textures of black reclaimed leather, but mostly smooth, shiny and sexy. Here’s a few of the details: fringed, zip top bag with antiqued brass hardware throughout. Fully lined in gorgeous green colored water & stain resistant brocade, 2 large interior pockets and one exterior phone pocket. Gothic stamped strap, detachable tassels. Such an easy and comfy carry, she’s pretty perfect. Dimensions: 16.5” across, 11” high, 4.5” deep (at base) 30” strap.
